I take photos of flowers in front of my wood burning stove in summer
It is now sadly time to tidy them away and replace with neat wood piles for days when the temperature drops below zero and we will not have a fuel allowance
The designs are so beautiful! And the photos look stunning. Do you edit them much? I have no patience (and skills) for editing so I always in awe when pics look amazing x
Thank you so much, Carmen! I tend to play around with the exposure and shadow / highlight levels, but I don't like ever messing with the colours because I want the flowers to look true to life. I've found the most important factor for getting nice photos is where I place them and how much light there is. (Which is why I often use the same place over and over again!)
Your work is just gorgeous and so fascinating - I love reading your essays and seeing all of your amazing creations. So wish I was local to you so I your work could spill wild on my dining room table! Xx
I make the stoves black background part of the setting like a Dutch still life so really relate to your photos
Ahhh thank you, Liz! I'm so inspired by floral Dutch Masters paintings.
